Mirait Technical Capability Supports Upgrade Of SEA-ME-WE
Engaged by Alcatel Lucent (Nokia), Mirait Technologies Australia recently finished installation of new equipment to upgrade the link capacity of the SEA-WE-WE3 cable. The SEA-ME-WE3 or South-East Asia - Middle East – Western Europe 3 is an optical submarine telecommunications Cable that stretches from North Germany to Australia and Japan, and at 39,000 kilometres in length, it is longest in the world.
As a supplier of specialist technical services, Mirait Technologies Australia has been constructing and commissioning major telecommunications networks on behalf of Alcatel Lucent for over fifteen years. The installation of new submarine exchanges as part of the expansion to Nextgen's North West Cable System from Port Headland to Darwin, and the new Tasman Global Access Cable that Telstra, Vodafone and Spark NZ have invested in, are examples of recent works Mirait Technologies Australia has undertaken on behalf of Alcatel-Lucent.
A contributing factor to Mirait’s success in delivering such a geographically dispersed program of work is our extensive sub-contractor network. With over 500 sub-contractors nationally within our Staff Management and Resource Tool (S.M.A.R.T), Mirait is able to deliver programs across Australia.
Mirait Technologies Australia also recently completed the design and construction of the terrestrial cable duct route from Hawaiki cable landing site in Coogee to the Equinix SY4 datacenter in Alexandria. The Hawaiki submarine cable system is a new trans-Pacific cable, which will link Australia and New Zealand to mainland United States, as well as Hawaii, with options to expand to several South Pacific islands.
