Mirait installing Land Cable Duct Route for JGA Cable Project
MIRAIT Technologies Australia has been contracted by AARNet to install the Land Cable Duct Route for the JGA Cable Project.
This project is part of the Japan-Guam-Australia Cable System (JGA). The 9,500-kilometer undersea fiber optic cable system will deliver a design capacity of more than 36 terabits per second (Tbps) and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019. JGA South (JGA-S), the segment between Sydney, Australia and Piti, Guam, is a consortium cable including AARNet, Google and RTI-C.
Mirait designed the 10 kilometre route extending from the Cable Landing Point at North Narrabeen to the Brookvale Datacentre for AARNet, construction commenced in early May with an expected completion date in September 2019.
Mirait has been a supplier of high profile telecommunication infrastructure projects for AARNet since 2006.
